1914 BEF French Banknote This is an August 1914 dated, French banknote. It has been left folded in a wallet for a very long time. It is clearly is a fragile condition. I have little doubt, that this note was kept as a lucky keepsake by a vet, as he survived the trenches. Over 100 years later, Online today, I do believe, this small slice of history is most worthy of a good home !
1917 Times Newspaper For anyone interested in the First World War, this edition of \'The Times\' newspaper certainly has a lot to offer ! The newspaper is complete with all 12 sides. It is December 26th 1917 dated. It is full of news from all fronts, adverts, International news and news from the Empire and the Home Front. It is in pristine condition, as shown and a treasure trove of information. The history contained in a single edition is simply staggering !

1917 Humorous Postcard This is a humorous postcard from 1917. It was franked at 8.30 AM on July 16th 1917. It is in good condition, as shown and a typical example, of wartime humour.
1919 RAF 50 Fighter Squadron Letter This letter was sent by a Captain in 50 squadron on July 9th 1919. It measures 19 by 25 cm and is addressed to someone, in the Birmingham area. 50 Squadron was stationed in the Kent area and were a fighter squadron. From October 1918, 50 Squadron were flying Sopwith Camels, as night fighters, for the Home Defence. The squadron was actually disbanded in June 1919 and it\'s last CO, was Arthur Harris ! It is a small slice of very early, RAF History, that is very worthy of a good home !
1939 Army Ammo Boots These are a pair of completely untouched size 8 large, 1939 dated, Army ammo boots. Both are in good condition as clearly shown. They are a perfectly matching pair, with each boot 1939 dated, as shown. They are also WD stamped, as shown. The left-hand side boot, has lost some of it's hob nails, at the front. 1940 Post Office Savings Book This is a rarely encountered item of Home Front paperwork. The Post Office book is named to a Miss D McCartney ! She banked at the Hammersmith branch in London. It is a fascinating item of Home Front History, as these books were , understandably, destroyed by families. This book\'s first deposit was made on September 20th 1940, at the height of \'The Blitz. The deposits continued throughout the war and right up to 1972, when the account was finally closed. The book is complete with all of it\'s pages and is completely untouched. It measures 10 by 16 cm.

50th Anniversary of D-Day Times Newspaper This is a 1994, 50th anniversary D- Day newspaper, produced by \'The Times\' newspaper. It is broadsheet size and it runs to 12 sides ! The Times reproduced here their original paper from June 6th 1944 and have added modern photo montages of D Day photos. It is a well produced publication. Apart from the folds to the paper, it is in pristine condition.

Afrikakorps ME109 Pilot\'s POW Grouping This is a small, but very interesting grouping. It comprises of 2 letters from a ME109 pilot, who was shot down in November 1942, in North Africa. There are 2 photos from North Africa, one showing the pilot. He was sent to a POW camp in Algeria. Both of the letters have been fully translated into English, by a previous collector. They are both 2 sided and there is an envelope, addressed to his wife. It is a small slice of Luftwaffe history, to a pilot, who was a very fortunate man.

Aldershot District This is a 1948 pattern example, embroidered on wool. It has a paper backing and is a well worn example. There is a small rip, on the left hand side and some staining.

Alexander of Tunis This is a 1952 dated, 2nd Impression printing of \'Alexander of Tunis\'. For anyone interested in British military history, this book is a most absorbing account ; of one of the most under rated architects of British victory over the Axis powers. The book still has 95% of it\'s dust jacket, which is clearly showing it\'s age. The pages do have some staining to them, but it is not excessive. It is well illustrated throughout with photos. It is quite simply a privilege to come close to an understanding what a military genius, that Alexander clearly was.

Austria - A Soldier\'s Guide This is a 1945 period, Army publication. It is pocket sized and very slim. It gave Army personnel, basic advice, on how to conduct themselves. The vet\'s initials are written on the front cover and inside. A toddler has drawn on the back cover, but this can be rubbed out easily.
Baby\'s Identity Card This is an unusual example to encounter. It is named to a Patricia Reeves, who was born in Birmingham on August 2nd 1941. The card was issued to her on September 16th 1941, when she was just 6 weeks old.

The book was published early in 1945, as the annotated inscription, at the front shows. Apart from some discolouration, to the cover, it is in very good condition. Brophy\'s book is seldom encountered and this is an opportunity, not to be missed.

It does have drawing pins holes, at each corner, some very minor marks and one pen mark, on the reverse. It is otherwise in very good condition and an impressive poster, measuring 45 by 30cm. It is an invaluable reference guide.
Commando Magazine Feature This is a March 1942 dated edition of \'Picture Post\' magazine. It has a 4 page photo feature on a Commando training exercise. Unfortunately, the magazine has suffered rust damage to many of the pages. It is otherwise in good condition.
Commando Publication This is a June 1950 dated, hardback edition of Bruce Lockhart\'s account of Commando operations during the war. The book is particularly well written and an engaging read. It has been cut down in size, at some point. The photo is a good size, measuring 29 by 14 cm. It is printed on thick, wartime card. It\'s previous owner ( a Secondary aged pupil, no doubt ) has glued a modern photocopy of a Messerschmitt, on the reverse, as shown. The backing of the photo, reveals, that this photo originally, was framed, as clearly shown. Of particular interest, is at the front of the nose cockpit. All of the plane\'s parachutes and ammo drums, are been piled up. Despite it\'s faults, it still remains a most, captivating image.

Despite this fault, the magazine is still, an impressive publication, in it\'s size and content. It is in pristine condition.

This example questioned the Anglo Soviet Alliance. It is printed on low grade paper. The folds on the leaflet show how one soldier chose to keep the leaflet, as a keepsake. It is 2 sided and has one small hole as shown. It is a rare survivor from The Italian Front.

It will come off easily off the page, as the stitching, is clearly not tight.
Kriegsmarine Leave Pass This is an August 31st 1944 dated, leave pass for a member of the Kriegsmarine It is named to a Hermann Leinweber. His pass was valid for 3 days and he reported back in on September 2nd. Leinweber appears to have taken his leave in Berlin, as the reverse stamp shows.

Despite being small, measuring just 14 by 20 cm, these magazines were the cutting edge in journalism. It has some minor fraying, to the top cover, as shown, but otherwise is in near mint condition. It has the perfect balance of thought provoking articles, cartoons, pin up nudes and humorous photo comparisons. It is nothing short of a masterpiece of understatement, at the nation's finest hour.

London German Spy Photo This seemingly innocent photo of \'Big Ben\', has a sinister, history behind it, as it was taken by a German spy, in the 1938/39 period. The photo grouping advertised here is brand new to the market. The photos were taken by a German spy, who photographed extensively, key traffic locations in the central London vicinity. These photos were later used by Luftwaffe intelligence, on the outbreak of the war. The photos aren\'t in the best of condition, but groupings like this are very rarely encountered. The magazine does have rust bleeding to the staples, but it is not excessive.

Naval Poster This is a large, wartime, Home Front poster. What is most unusual about it, is that it was hand painted, a Christmas message to the Royal Navy, from Juniper Green Food Supply Company. This firm was clearly a supplier to The Royal Navy, during the war. Juniper Green today is a village, north of Edinburgh in Scotland. It measures 76 by 52 cm and rolls up neatly as shown. It does have a few rips, at the bottom, but otherwise is otherwise in good condition. The poster appears to have have been left rolled, for a considerable time. RAF Map of The Eastern Counties This is an RAF issue, map of the Eastern Counties area. It is not dated, but is titled at the top, as \'RAF War Edition\'. It clearly is a well used example. There are inked areas, indicating danger zones for aircraft. In addition there are vertical lines drawn, as shown. The map does have a lot of foxing on the reverse. It measures 78 by 62 cm and certainly is one that has seen a lot of use !

The Great War Magazine This is a July 1915 dated magazine publication called \'The Great War\'. Published on a large format size it is large, measuring 25 by 34cm. These First World War magazines really were a particularly well produced publication. Printed on high grade paper, gave the photos, an exceptional quality for the period. Now, over 100 years old, these magazines certainly do not look their age, when comparted to \'Picture Post\' magazines, produced in the 1940\'s ! They are particularly well written and well worth the time and money, in my opinion. This edition comes complete with it\'s poster of the Queen of Belgium.

Printed on high grade paper, gave this publication outstanding photo quality, as clearly shown here. The magazine has lost it\'s original front cover, it is otherwise in very good condition. The range of photos in this publication is very large and it is a highly impressive magazine, for the period.

The Lothians and Border Yeomanry This is a short account of the regiment\'s action with the BEF in France in May/ June 1940. It ends with the surrender of the unit, and the evacuation of some survivors. The publication measures 22 by 14 cm is very slim. It is February 1941 dated and quite grubby as shown. It is nevertheless, one publication, that is rarely encountered .

The photo is a published, wartime Luftwaffe source. The printed caption on the reverse to \'Tommy\', shows it was published prior to Molder\'s death in November 1941. It is a small sized photo, but the photo definition is exceptional.

The strap is new to the market and is damaged as shown. It is priced accordingly. The leather is still supple and is in completely untouched. It measures 40 cm by 6 cm. It is a small and affordable, slice of WW1 history, which would look the part, on a display.

Zeppelin Household Insurance Policy This is a 1915 dated, household Insurance Policy, taken out by a Mary Potter. The News paper, ran these household insurance policies and reflect the feeling of nation insecurity, caused by the German Zeppelin raids over Britain. In addition, it covered households, for damage also caused by friendly fire. The insurance policy receipt, measures 32 by 13 cm. It is an uncommon First World War , Home Front item to encounter.
\'Blitzkrieg\' Film Photo This is a 1960\'s period, photo, taken from a documentary film, that was narrated by Brian Horrocks. The photo is a good size, measuring 25 by 20 cm and is in very good condition. It is clearly, an impressive image.
\'They Sought out Rommel\' This is a 1942 dated, softback publication, produced by The Army at war. It gives a brief account of the first phase of The Desert War, between February to December 1941. The book is small format size and in good condition. It is seldom encountered and an engaging read.
